North Dakota State Grant


  • The purpose of the State Grant is to provide an incentive for students who have not enrolled in a post-secondary institution to begin an educational program and for those currently enrolled to be able to continue their education.
  • The maximum grant award is $600.00. The award can be used at any public, or private, non-profit post-secondary training institution in North Dakota.
  • To be eligible, you must be a citizen or permanent resident of North Dakota and plan to enroll in a course of study at least nine months in duration with a minimum of 12 credits for each enrollment period.

  • You automatically apply for this grant by completing the FAFSA and indicating a ND educational institution in Step 5 Information and Release.
